UNITED STATES UNVEILS PLAN TO BUILD A “NEW GAZA” WITH 180 HIGH-RISE BUILDINGS

The United States has unveiled plans to establish a “New Gaza,” a major reconstruction initiative aimed at rebuilding the severely devastated Palestinian territory.

Concept images reveal a modern urban landscape featuring numerous high-rise buildings stretching along the Mediterranean coastline, alongside newly planned residential areas in Rafah. The proposal also includes a phased development plan covering new housing zones, agricultural areas, and industrial districts designed to accommodate Gaza’s estimated population of 2.1 million residents.

The plans were presented during a signing ceremony at the World Economic Forum in Davos, marking the launch of a new Peace Board established under U.S. President Donald Trump. The board has been tasked with ending the two-year conflict between Israel and Hamas and overseeing Gaza’s reconstruction process.

President Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who played a key role in brokering the ceasefire that came into effect in October, stated that approximately 90,000 tonnes of weapons were dropped on Gaza during the conflict. He added that an estimated 60 million tonnes of debris now need to be cleared.

As part of the reconstruction plan, a new seaport and an international airport will be built near the Egyptian border. The proposal also includes the establishment of a “tri-border crossing hub” at the junction where the borders of Egypt and Israel meet.

Reconstruction efforts will be carried out in four phases, beginning in Rafah and gradually moving northwards toward Gaza City, with the aim of restoring infrastructure, housing, and economic activity across the entire region.
