INDICATIVE EXCHANGE RATES 26-01-2026


 Financial markets have released the latest indicative exchange rates for major international and regional currencies, alongside updated gold prices, offering guidance to traders, investors, and the general public.


According to the rates issued on January 26, 2026, the United States Dollar (USD) is being bought at TZS 2,474.92 and sold at TZS 2,499.67.


The British Pound Sterling (GBP) stands at a buying rate of TZS 3,349.56 and a selling rate of TZS 3,383.05, while the Euro (EUR) is trading at TZS 2,905.06 for buying and TZS 2,934.11 for selling.


In Asian markets, the Chinese Yuan (CNY) is being bought at TZS 355.35 and sold at TZS 358.90, whereas the Japanese Yen (JPY) is trading at TZS 15.64 for buying and TZS 15.80 for selling.


Regional currencies have also shown steady movements. The South African Rand (ZAR) is being bought at TZS 152.84 and sold at TZS 154.37. The Kenyan Shilling (KES) stands at TZS 19.17 for buying and TZS 19.36 for selling.


Meanwhile, the Rwandan Franc (RWF) is trading between TZS 1.70 and TZS 1.71, the Ugandan Shilling (UGX) between TZS 0.70 and TZS 0.70, and the Burundian Franc (BIF) between TZS 0.83 and TZS 0.84.


On the precious metals market, gold prices have also been updated. Gold is being bought at TZS 12,221,109.37 and sold at TZS 12,343,320.47.
