The Bank of Tanzania (BoT) has released the indicative foreign exchange rates for January 29, 2026, showing the performance of major international and regional currencies against the Tanzanian Shilling.
According to the published rates, the United States Dollar (USD) is being bought at TZS 2,472.49, while the British Pound Sterling (GBP) stands at TZS 3,404.36. The Euro (EUR) is trading at a buying rate of TZS 2,948.19, and the Chinese Yuan (CNY) at TZS 355.93.
Other currencies include the Japanese Yen (JPY) at TZS 16.08, the South African Rand (ZAR) at TZS 155.14, the Kenyan Shilling (KES) at TZS 19.15, the Rwandan Franc (RWF) at TZS 1.69, the Ugandan Shilling (UGX) at TZS 0.69, and the Burundian Franc (BIF) at TZS 0.83.
In addition, the Bank of Tanzania announced the indicative gold price at TZS 13,076,677.25 per Troy Ounce.
